Material description and areas of use

Chromium-Copper with Zirkonium is a material with high resistance values and good thermal- and electrical conductivity.
The material meets the demands according to RWMA Class 2
(Resistance Welders Manufacturers Association).
It is used in applications where a combination of high electrical- and thermal conductivity together with high resistance values in high temperatures is requsted. The material is well suited for welding electrodes for s.c. resistance welding (MIG), as it leads the heat away from the welding area and at the same time is hard enough to handle the mechanical pressure. The material can be extra hardened during manufacturing through heat-treatment in combination with coldworking.

Examples of areas of use

Welding electrodes, dies/moulds for continous casting of steel and aluminum, electrical components, switches, turbine parts (in combination with high temperature) etc.
