Material description and areas of use

Coppar-Nickel-Silicium is an alloy with high resistance values and good thermal- and electrical conductivity. It is a good alternative to more expensive Copper-Beryllium-alloys.

The material meets demands according to RWMA Class 3
(Resistance Welders Manufacturers Association).
The material is used in applications where a combination of high electrical- and thermal conductivity together with high resistanceproperties are requested. It is well suited for welding-rods and -pins for s.c. resistance welding (MIG), as it leads away the heat from the welding area and at the same time is hard enough to handle the mechanical pressure. The material can be extra hardened during manufacturing through heat-treatment in combination with coldworking.
A very good alternative to Copper-Beryllium-alloys. High thermal- and electrical conductivity together with high resistance properties. Though not quite as hard as Copper-Beryllium-alloys.

Examples of areas of use

Welding-electrodes for spot- and seam-welding of stainless steels-, monell- and nickel-alloys, parts to chambermachines for die casting light metals, parts for injection moulding-tools for plastics. Generally an excellent choice wherever high thermal conductivity is requested etc.
