Material description

For a number of applications, such as drilling components for oil exploration, antimagnetic copper base alloys with very high strength and low galling tendency are required.

The alloy-family, CuMnNi, basically has the potential to meet these requirements.

However, also in this case, production with conventional casting methods is very difficult due to the high alloy contents. The material LV7 , CuMn20Ni20, is an agehardenable alloy, which enables it to fulfil the requirements of high strength. The corrosion resistance of Sprayformed alloy LV7 is as good as that of leadfree Nickel-Silver alloys.

LV7 is able to compete with heat treated steels and Beryllium-copper

Areas of use

A material for the tough and rough use. Can replace Beryllium-Copper in comparison with hardness, but not in thermal- or electrical conductivity. Excellent wearability, reistance and insensitive to shock-stress and abrasion.
