Information about WF
(Wartungs freie Gleitelementen, selflubricating slidingelements). Due to constantly increasing maintenance cost the use of self-lubricating sliding elements is becoming more important. The WF-products starts where normal selflubricating bearings and plates ends.
WF 750 -sliding elements are preferably recommended where loads are very high and sliding speeds < 0,5 m/s respectively where an oscillating sliding movement takes place.
Alloys
WF 750-1, a hard "high tensile brass" with ISO no. CuZn25Al5, is the basic alloy in all stocked products. If another alloy is wished for we can offer most alloys and special sizes acc. to your requirements.
In the table below there is a listing of some alternative alloys.

Important facts
WF 750 self lubricating sliding element are preferably recommended where sliding speeds are < 0,5 m/s respectively where an oscillating movement takes place. For extreme service, (i.e. sliding speed >2,0 m/s) additional lubrication is possible and recommended. Maintenance-free performance of self-lubricating elements requires a proper portion of lubricant. In order to embed the lubricant, we recommend the following minimum wall thickness:
Guideplates : > 10 mm
Bearings : 5 % of inner diameter + 3 mm
Type and arrangements of lubricant macro-deposits as well as portion of lubricant depend on shape of self-lubricating element and sliding direction. They are established for each specific application.
Back up material - The difference in hardness between WF 750-1/2/3 and 4 and the back up material should have a hardness of 100 BHN minimum.
Installation guidelines
The following press fit should be used to fit the bearing into the housing:
Housing : H7
Bearing Od Ø: r6
Before start-up it is important to oil or grease both sliding surfaces. Commercially available oils or greases can be used.
