Federalloys© is an equivalent to leaded bronzes, without the lead. Bismuth has been added to replace lead in these alloys for pressure tightness, lubrication and machinability. This eliminates all the environmental concerns associated with lead in machining and fabricating processes. Federalloys is not a substitute but a replacement for leaded bronzes, achieving the same wear, strength, hardness and machinability without the embrittlement found in other Bismuth substitutes. The patented process uses an additive to disperse Bismuth uniformly in copper matrix. Federalloys castings pass standards of Lead (Pb) and Bismuth (Bi) leachate as defined by current NSF Regulations, standard 61, section 8 and 9. Federalloy´s patented alloys are produced by Concast Metal Products Co. under license from The Federal Metals Company of Bedford, Ohio. Sold and distibuted in Scandinavia by Lagermetall AB, Örebro, Sweden.
